Amanda and Sirish

Amanda and Sirish are the perfect examples of a new-age romance; these two met on Bumble in 2017. Their love story is one of those rare dating app success stories and we just cannot get enough. Amanda and Sirish both lived in the Bay Area but in different cities, so when they connected on Bumble they decided to meet halfway at a restaurant. Amanda recalls, “When he walked in I remember thinking to myself, he is so handsome. It was a successful first date and I thought he was really respectful.” Sirish remembers thinking Amanda was really pretty and that she had a very nice smile. On their second date, Amanda and Sirish met in San Francisco for lunch. Amanda said, “Neither of us wanted the date to end, so after lunch, we walked to a macaroon shop, picked up some cookies and went to the park. We just sat there and talked for hours. Then, Shirish suggested we go watch a movie and I readily agreed. It was a wonderful second date.” Clearly, these two really enjoyed each other’s company and had an almost instant connection; and the rest is history.

Six years later, we fast-forward to the wedding. The most unique thing about their wedding was that this was the first time Amanda was meeting Sirish’s parents, family and friends back in India. Due to the distance and due to the Covid-19 pandemic, they never got the chance before. Their parents hit it off and their dads practically became best friends. Since Amanda and Sirish lived in California, Sirish’s parents did all the wedding planning and the execution. Essentially, Amanda and Sirish would tell them their preferences, colour palettes and outfit ideas but the end result was all thanks to Sirish’s parents. So, the first event was the haldi which took place at Sirish’s parents house. The next day was the Vrutham, which is the meeting of the families, followed by the engagement. The day after that, the couple hosted all their family, friends and relatives at their reception followed by the wedding ceremony. Amanda said, “For my parents and family, all these concepts were totally new but they thoroughly enjoyed the experience. They loved learning about the traditions and participating in them.”

Amanda and Sirish can both agree that they enjoyed the reception the most, simply because it was an event that was filled with joy and happiness. Seeing the happiness on their parent's faces and watching everyone have such a good time is all the couple really wanted. Amanda recalls, “Sirish’s family and friends made my parents feel so welcome and they treated them like family. I think my parents fit right in and they just felt so loved.”

Of course, once we sent Amanda and Sirish the wedding photographs and videos, we couldn’t wait to hear their feedback. Amanda sent us the sweetest message about how much she loved the final results. “We loved your photographs because we could literally sense the joy and happiness in every picture. We thought that the shots were so creatively captured and we don’t think we could have found better wedding photographers than Lightbucket Production to capture the right moments at our wedding. We trusted you with your wedding photographs and you did a phenomenal job.”
