Serene shoot in the streets of Jodhpur
A stunning and serene photoshoot in the Mihir Ghar fort in Jodhpur, this wedding shoot was truly one of a kind. Rustic locations, breathtaking views as far as the eyes could see and the perfect symphony of tradition and heritage, the post-wedding photoshoot of Sandeep and Sushmitha was just magical.
A post-wedding photoshoot, you ask? Well, due to the time constraints, this couple just couldn’t fit a pre-wedding photoshoot into their tight timeline. But, that certainly didn’t stop Sandeep and Sushmitha, or our team at Lightbucket Productions, from planning the most exquisite and aesthetic photoshoot!
With traditional royal arches, an infinity swimming pool overlooking the vast desert, breathtaking sunsets and spiral staircases, the Mihir Garh Fort in Jodhpur has everything for the making of a perfect wedding photoshoot! Sushmitha and Sandeep carried multiple changes, all of which complemented the setting and each other making our job even easier. If you ask us, the photos on the terrace and the budding-romance on the staircase were straight out of a Bollywood song; imagine flying dupattas, wind blowing through the hair, golden hour lighting for hours on end and the typical movie-inspired slow-motion running.
The day our team and the couple reached Jodhpur, the timing was just right. We spent the evening taking the most gorgeous sunset shots; Sushmitha and Sandeep’s chemistry was undeniable and it showed in every single photograph. “Mihir Garh in Jodhpur was honestly the most beautiful fort that I had ever seen, in my opinion. Right in the middle of the desert, this place was traditional yet rustic which is exactly what we were looking for. Originally, when Amit suggested Mihir Garh, we weren’t fully convinced. Then, after looking at over 100 different places, we found ourselves levitating towards Mihir Garh and we are happy to report that we made the right decision! Amit’s suggestion was absolutely on point and we had the post-wedding photoshoot of your dreams! The team was really friendly and supportive, Karthik and Kiran were with us every step of the way and we honestly had the time of our life during the photoshoot” is what Sandeep had to say.
“We had discussed our vision with Amit, and the team at Lightbucket Productions, quite a few times. When Amit suggested Mihir Garh, it just stuck with me and I couldn’t get it out of my head! And when we reached there, we had the whole place to ourselves which made our photoshoot all the more special. Plus, we got the experience the brilliance of Rajasthani hospitality at its finest, which we thoroughly enjoyed! A big thank you to Amit and the Lightbucket Productions team for creating the post-wedding photoshoot of our dreams” said Sushmitha.
Our absolute favourite shots were the ones that happened spontaneously the next morning. So as the story goes, Sushmitha and Sandeep really wanted to get some morning photographs in white kurtas but they both forgot to pack their white outfits. They were quite disappointed that they had nothing in white, especially since they had envisioned these early morning photographs a certain way. Out of the blue, Sushmitha realised that there was a small store in the resort that was selling kurtas. Unfortunately, the store was shut! The manager at the resort then called up the owner of the store who promptly came and gave the couple two white kurtas, and the photoshoot continued successfully! In Sandeep’s words “Not only Sush and I, but Karthik and Kiran were also so excited when we finally got the kurtas. We rushed upstairs to start the shoot in the morning light and we got the best portraits of our lives.”
Pro tip from our couple: Carry as many outfit changes as you can and be prepared to pay for extra baggage if you need to. Also, make sure the clothes you and your partner carry actually complement each other and the venue. You never know what colour will work at which location. Also, the lighting makes a big difference! So have a discussion with your photographers and have a look at the photoshoot locations properly because you even start packing! Also, try to coordinate your colour palette with the places you are visiting - this will help with the photographs. And, just remember to enjoy yourselves!
