Aditi and Srivatsa

Aditi and Srivatsa have a very special meet-cute love story. They were both studying at Sir MVIT in Bangalore and Srivatsa was a senior. They were part of a committee where they worked together for college fests. Aditi was on Vatsa’s team so they got to spend a whole lot of time together, and that is how their love story started; as Aditi says, “The rest is history”.

Aditi and Srivatsa knew from day one that they wanted to plan their wedding on their own, with the help of their family members of course. However, there was a point where Vatsa was in Bangalore while Aditi was in the USA, so planning their wedding from two different countries while dealing with contrasting time zones was an experience in itself. Adita and Srivatsa wanted to make all the wedding decisions together, so Aditi recalls waking up at 5 am on the weekend to get on a call with Vatsa and the vendors to go over the details and finalize things. As difficult as it was, Aditi felt that seeing her dream wedding come true was worth everything, no matter how many complaints she may have had at the time.

Aditi and Srivatsa’s wedding functions were spread over three days. On the first day, they have the mehendi and the sangeet. The second day was the haldi followed by a reception at night and on day three they had two weddings, one was the Telugu muhurtham which was followed by Arya Samaj-style pheras. So the first function which was the mehendi function acted as the ice breaker between their family and friends. By the time the sangeet function came around, all their guests were mingling, dancing and having the most fun ever. The couple danced to three songs together, ‘dilli wali girlfriend’, ‘mere mehboob mere sanam’ and ‘raabta’. Aditi said that they planned the songs and the performance in such a way that in the first song, it was as if Vatsa was wooing her, in the second song she was wooing him while the third song roughly translated to how these two have waited a lifetime to be with each other.

The next was the haldi, which started off rather traditionally; it ended with their friends throwing buckets of ice-cold water at each other. So, it was safe to say that the haldi function turned out to be quite fun for everyone involved! Aditi had envisioned her haldi and it turned out exactly as planned; they were surrounded by only their closest family and friends and all everyone was dressed in shades of yellow, white and orange. Of course, the pictures turned out beautiful thanks to the colour coordinated outfits. That night was the reception, where they invited everyone from their extended family to friends of friends and everyone in between. Aditi recalls, “While Vatsa and I were quite tired, just seeing everyone who came to celebrate with us made our hearts full. We just felt so happy and so loved.”

Then came the day of the wedding, or as Aditi likes to call it, the real-life version of 2 States. The wedding function started off with a beautiful Telugu muhurtham which was very close to Aditi and Vatsa’s hearts. Then, they quickly changed to their North Indian wedding attire in under 90 minutes; a bride getting ready in under 90 minutes, now that’s a new world record! For the traditional South Indian wedding, Aditi wore a beautiful cream sari with gold embellishments and a striking red blouse while Srivatsa wore an off-white kurta pajama. For the North Indian wedding, Aditi changed into a stunning embroidered red lehenga while Vatsa complemented her in a cream sherwani with a red shawl. Aditi had always imagined that she would wear a red lehenga as a bride and when she saw this red lehenga, she knew it was the right one for her. As she said, “This lehenga gave me all the feels of being a bride, just as I had always imagined. I was finally marrying my soulmate”.

For Aditi, her most special memory was when she was walking down the aisle with her mom. She remembers, “ I was walking down the aisle with my mother for the pheras and I walked up the stairs to the mandap where Vatsa was standing. There was this one moment where mom was holding one hand and Vatsa was holding the other, and this exact moment was captured beautifully by Lightbucket Productions. It was such a simple moment, just such a beautiful and powerful one. And now I have this special memory with me, forever”.

Hearing this, we asked Aditi about her experience working with us and how she ended up choosing Lightbucket Productions. She said, “I have followed Lightbucket Productions since 2017, so I have literally seen your page and your company grow. Secondly, your company shot Malvika Sitlani’s engagement party in Mumbai and that video was really cool, which made me want to choose your company even more. And I am so glad that we did. Your team was warm, creative and so much fun to have around. Not once did we feel like you guys were vendors, it felt like you were our friends. Even our guests were so impressed with how well your team fit in all the functions. And of course, the end results speak volumes – the photographs and videos we received were magical and nothing short of perfection”.
